In Lincolnshire we’ve recently completed a bright and airy 11m x 4m annexe, sitting just behind the family home in the back garden. The whole family including the occupant of the annexe, Ms. Linley, decided that having a Granny Annexe built was the best option, so the whole family can be closer.
Project – Peterborough
Bright and Airy
Gable end glazing creates a beautiful feature in the bedroom, allowing light to bathe the room. A clever combination of large windows and French doors to the kitchen/lounge area provides plenty of light to the hub of the annexe. Granny Annexe finished the interior with matt white paint and satin skirting. The client chose the stylish pendant light fittings.
Country Cottage Feel
Surrounded by the rolling Lincolnshire countryside, the idea of a traditional cottage-style annexe appealed to the family. So, true to form, Granny Annexe made their ideas a reality. The pitched roof annexe finished in white render with brick quoins, really sets-off the cottage ‘look’.
All the Mod-Cons
Of course, this beautiful annexe comes with all the mod-cons. Granny Annexe not only build the water-tight structure and foundations, but also fitted a fully functioning bathroom and good-sized kitchen.
Ms. Linley chose to have a full size white bath. Granny Annexe installed a full size hot water cylinder to provide hot water to the bath and kitchen. The bathroom was also fitted with a modern white toilet and sink vanity unit combination, as well as a power shower over the bath.
To complete the modern country feel inside the annexe, Granny Annexe fitted cream coloured kitchen units with oak block laminate work tops. A black glass hob, brushed steel extractor and a high-level integrated oven were all fitted. Space was left for a washing machine which the client fitted themselves, as well as a white fridge freezer.
Spacious Living Area
As you can see from the photos, the living area has enough room for a few visitors. The kitchen/lounge area comfortably fits two armchairs, a TV and a dining table with 4 chairs. There’s also room for other storage items such as a 6ft bookcase, side tables and a pouf.
One of the Warmest Buildings Around
Granny Annexe use Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) to construct annexes and garden rooms. All Granny Annexe SIPs are manufactured individually for your annexe at our Bedfordshire production facility.
Granny Annexe SIPs have a great insulation rating, falling well within UK Government limits. Our U-values are within the upper limits, contributing towards the energy efficiency of the building.
