We were delighted when a previous customer recommended us to the family, who were looking for a Granny Annexe for their Granddad, Mr Clements. The family wanted a more natural looking Garden Lodge building, so opted for an L-shape clad with Western Red Cedar timber panels.

One of the main aims in terms of design for the Annexe is that they wanted a light and airy feel inside. We always suggest that a pitched roof, Velux windows, French doors and large windows will let in natural light, making the Granny Annexe feel more spacious.

As with all of our Granny Annexes, where someone will be living in it full time and also due to the size/height of the building, planning permission is usually required. For a cost of £1,672, we looked after the full planning application on behalf of the customer, which includes all technical drawings.

The Granny Annexe also had an open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area, plus a bedroom with a double bed and a wardrobe, with an ensuite shower room. We also laid the armoured cable for the electricity and installed and connected the pipework to the water supply and drainage, where the cost for this particular project was around £649.

The build was complete in 4 just 4 weeks, where the customer was over the moon with the finished product and also their experience with our company and our service. Mr Clements said: “The building and service is excellent. I’d recommend it to anybody”.
