The family decided on a contemporary styled annexe, with the vertical cedar clad. The annexe sits perfectly at the end of the garden framed by the wooden fence to the left and the shrubbery to the right. The main entrance to the annexe uses sliding doors which make a great addition and allow in plenty of natural light.

The build sits in the heart of St Albans just a few miles out from the centre of town, this St Albans annexe makes a great space for the families elderly parents to reside in, the internal area of 43.29m2 allows for plenty of space. The bedroom and living room are of substantial size, allowing enough space for the whole family to visit. Only a few changes were made from our initial site survey to the final quote which always gets the build going ahead quicker.

The main access into the annexe is comprised of sliding doors, these really allow the annexe to fill with light throughout the day, and when required can be opened up so that most of the living space can be open to the fresh air. The kitchen/living room is an open plan area but that doesn’t mean the kitchen or the living space has suffered in size, the kitchen bodes plenty of room for its own dining set plus all the kitchen essentials.

The bedroom for the annexe has a large internal size of 15.61m2, this leaves plenty of room either side of the double bed with space for dressers and other furniture. The en-suite attached to the bedroom holds a toilet, sink and shower area all tiled from floor to ceiling. This bathroom also has a disabled pack fitted and supplied by Granny Annexe.

Lastly the roof of the annexe is a sedum roof which boasts many extra beneficial qualities to the build and can provide an important micro-climate for birds insects and other possibly rare species.

 

As standard with the Granny Annexe laminate flooring, electrics and plumbing is fitted.
