Planning, Family Care
Project – Worthing
The family decided it’ll be the best decision to build a Granny Annexe in the garden of thier mothers premises to live in due to her current health problems, which are getting worse day by day. As well as saving money by not mortgaging a new property, the mother would also be on hand to help care for her and her 2 year old daughter when needed.
The family chose a 1 bedroom, L-shape Granny Annexe, complete with a small fitted kitchen, lounge and a bathroom with a double shower, vanity unit, sink and toilet – so that she can still have the sense of being independent.
The family also preferred the traditional cottage look, so our white rendered exterior with brick quoins edging the corners of the Granny Annexe was a perfect match to their tastes. Another favourite trick to let in extra sunlight is to add gable glazing and Velux windows to your annexe, which the family also opted for.
