During these difficult times, many families are facing increasing stress and worry. As news regarding COVID-19 continues to unfold, we would like to reassure you that we are doing everything that we can in order to ensure the safety and health of our staff and customers, while also trying our best to keep disruption to a minimum.
For many people building an annexe in the garden is more than just a lifestyle choice, for the majority of our customers the decision to build an annexe is about providing safety and security, bringing together families at a time when they need each other the most. These sentiments are especially relevant today, as we look ahead to the future and consider the advice given by scientists and the government regarding keeping our families safe.
An annexe in the garden can be one of the best ways in which to provide care and support for elderly family members, especially in the current climate. Having an annexe in the garden means that you have your own separate living space, providing a degree of independence while still being close to family who can provide required support when necessary. Often loneliness can be a problem in old age, but with annexe living, you are never far away from your nearest and dearest, who can pop over for a cup of tea or help out with the cooking. There are so many advantages to annexe living. It is not just a new home, but a new way of life that manages to balance family and independence.
An annexe can help provide care from family members when required with the added assurance that there are people close by who will be able to help if needed. An annexe also provides an environment that is easy to keep clean, with brand new kitchens and shower rooms fitted as standard, you can be assured that it is a clean and healthy environment that can be kept to a very high degree of sanitation.
Starting the process of annexe construction in the next few months
It is clear that in the next few months starting any new construction project is going to be met with a lot of uncertainty. What is possible now is to start the process, so that when the time is right to build, everything is in place so as to make the project run as smooth as possible. We are aware that many people, especially older customers are going to be concerned about having consultations and arranging site surveys. In order to ensure the safety of our customers and staff, we are implementing free Virtual Site Surveys. This allows us to provide the same sort of survey we would normally, but via a virtual platform, such as Skype, Facetime or even telephone. During the virtual site survey, we would chat with you and your family about the project you have in mind and your needs and requirements. Site surveys are normally exactly this, a chance to chat with you and discuss ideas, so a survey conducted via Skype or telephone is very feasible. After this, we would ask that you send us as many photos of your garden as possible, especially of the area where the building will be positioned. We will then be able to get to work designing your annexe, and in the next few weeks, you will receive from us your bespoke annexe design drawings.
This will include:
- 3D exterior CAD drawing of your Granny Annexe in situ
- An interior floor plan
- A garden aspect plan showing the services
